Here are a few common questions about our services
Do you have a weight limit on dogs?
Homeward Bound has a weight limit of 100lbs. Some exceptions may apply on a case by case basis.
Do you service cats?
Unfortunately at this time we cannot accept cats.
Do you groom sedated dogs?
No. Mobile grooming is a great solution for animals that experience anxiety from traveling in the car or being dropped off at a salon since it’s a very relaxing one on one environment. With that being said, if you are still concerned that your pet may need to be sedated while in our care, then your pet should be groomed under the supervision of a veterinarian.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Homeward Bound accepts cash, credit card, and check. *NSF we charge a $25 fee.
Do you need to plug in or use my water?
Our mobile grooming unit is self sufficient. We have fresh water on board and grey holding tanks for our dirty water. We also have a generator and inverter to ensure that we do not need to hassle with finding a suitable power supply at a client’s home.
What areas do you service?
Homeward Bound currently services areas in Grand Traverse County and Leelanau County. Our routes are always changing please call to inquire when we will be in your area.
How long does mobile grooming take?
Mobile grooming is a one on one experience. On average pets take 1-2 hours to groom. We will never rush or risk the safety or wellbeing of a dog to meet a time constraint. For added
convenience we can also make arrangements to groom your pet while you are away so you can come home to a fresh and clean pet!
How much does mobile grooming cost?
Prices start at $75 and vary depending on a multitude of factors. Breed, size, temperament, location, and coat condition all play a role in determining the cost of the groom. I would be happy to give you an estimate on your pet- please note that all quotes listed over the phone or internet are estimates only without seeing the dog in person.
Is my scheduled appointment an exact time?
No, we give a time frame of arrival not an exact time. This is due to possible disruptions such as traffic, weather, or spending more time with an older/younger/more difficult pet than expected. If we are going to be considerably later/earlier than our scheduled appointment time every effort will be made to contact you so that you are aware.
